A cardiac risk assessment is a general review of your overall heart health, designed to identify early warning signs of conditions such as heart disease, stroke risk, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. It’s ideal for anyone with a family history of heart problems, or simply wanting peace of mind.

At Heart Health Hub, your assessment is carried out by NHS-trained cardiac specialists with over 13 years of experience. We focus on prevention, early detection and providing clear, personalised advice — all without long waiting lists.

What happens during the assessment

Your appointment includes a combination of non-invasive tests tailored to your needs. These may include:

  • Resting ECG
  • Blood pressure check
  • Oxygen saturation assessment
  • Lifestyle review allowing cardiac risk scoring

We’ll discuss your symptoms, concerns, lifestyle and family history to build a complete picture of your cardiovascular health.

How to prepare

There’s very little you need to do before your assessment:

  • Eat, drink and take your usual medications as normal.
  • Wear a comfortable, easy-to-remove top for ECG testing.
  • Bring a list of medications if you’re on regular treatment.

Arriving a few minutes early helps ensure accurate blood pressure readings.

What to expect

You’ll be guided through each test at a relaxed pace. Everything we do is non-invasive and painless, and we explain each step as we go. The appointment usually lasts 30–45 minutes.

Before you leave, we’ll talk through your initial findings, discuss your lifestyle, and outline any recommended next steps or further testing if needed.

Your results

Your full, personalised risk profile is available immediately and options are available to be referred onto preventative cardiovascular rehabilitation.

At Heart Health Hub, we believe prevention is powerful. Our risk assessments are designed to give you clarity, confidence and control over your long-term heart health.
